Aloe Polyphylla, stained glass mosaic (framed), 18"x18", 2016 ~SOLD
This pieces was inspired by the mesmerizing spiraling pattern of certain species of the aloe plant native to South Africa. It may be difficult to believe that such perfect geometry grows from the Earth but the spiral actually appears in nature quite often. Isn’t Mother Nature magnificent?
This succulent is a perfect balance of geometry and an organic form. The pattern is meditative and fun to look at but it also has a deeper meaning. It symbolizes the changes in our life as our journey unfolds, starting at the source and heading outward or heading inward toward the center from the outside, depending how you look at it.

All the glass is hand cut and neatly arranged.
Once glued, the mosaic is grouted for an added design element.
