Dahlia Spectrum

Knowing that the natural world is full of geometric patterns as well as hidden wonders is something that really draws me in. I love combining sacred geometry with organic forms while exploring color.

Emerging From the Night, stained glass mosaic (framed), 18"x18", 2016   ~SOLD

With this mosaic, I wanted to delve into the obvious as well as the hidden beauty of nature. I thought of a dahlia flower during an early morning when it is covered in dew while the sun beams are beginning to shoot up through the horizon.  A sun beam finds its way to a dew droplet on the dahlia and creates a rainbow of color - how magical! If the flower itself, emerging from the deep darkness of the night wasn't beautiful enough, Mother Earth sprinkled an extra bit of magic for the keen observer and lover of her gifts.
